Jimmy Choo for Who?
On November 14th 2009 we are going to see the results of the collaboration of Jimmy Choo and H&M. The collection is going to include dresses, skirt, vests, pants, jackets and all sorts of accessories: shoes, purses, bags, clutches, bracelets, earrings, belts etc. Jimmy Choo is a well known brand for its high quality and enormously high prices.
Tamara Mello, the owner and a president of the company said it was prestigious for Jimmy Choo to design a collection for H&M. Hopefully it will bring some sophistication, and elegance.
Most of the times when I bought something from the previous designers’ collections I had mostly customer remorse instead of satisfaction of owning a piece designed by Karl Lagerfeld or other designers. I am not sure if I will buy something this time, maybe I will probably just check what all the noise is about this time.
Will you stand in this line?

Sexy, suede and leather thigh high boots, short bottoms, narrow pants and strong accented shoulders dominated New York, Milan, London, and Paris runways. The collections represented the Parisian influence of nonchalant elegance (Vuitton, Hermes), London’s creative individuality (Rodarte), Italian essence of luxury (Pucci), and American modesty and sophistication(Jacobs). The palette of mostly muted colors, high quality design and the precise cut guaranteed maximum effectiveness .Lots of fur, leather, cashmere and wool. The collections were designed for sophisticated women with a hint of toughness and with a love for life.

Modern quality
Nonchalance, strength, and elegance were the motto for the fashion shows at this city. Velvety, wool and cashmere lean coats and jackets accompanied with skintight leather pants and thigh high shoes were shown at the collections of Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Blumarine, Versace and Emporio Armani. I saw very classy, chic, and sexy pieces of artistic work, perfectly tailored with an incredible attention to details. The colors were muted, monochromatic and kept in a rather dark scale. There was no exaggeration and unnecessary accessories on the runway at these collections.

Power of a short dress
A designer job is to show us what we want before we know what we want. There is power in a short black dress, especially with an incredible décolletage, power shoulders, and must have boots showed by Herve Léger. If you prefer uniqueness, urban chic, grayish, feminine and playful dress by Andy and Debb is the best. Feeling sophisticated? Smart and sexy black set by Carlos Miele will do. For the nights out: short, sweet and flirtatious by Chado Ralph Rucci or sexy Verrier will certainly add a lot to girls’ attitude.

Working Assets
Within next few weeks I would like to introduce the newest trends in fashion including wardrobes designed by more and lesser known designers for various retailers like H&M etc. Does the quality satisfy the customer, does the PR associated with the process of promotion of the collection help or ruin the reputation of a designer who cooperates with a retailer? We will see.
This time I wish I had in my closet….. Some of Matthew Williamson designs for H&M Spring 2009.
Here is an example of excellent, colorful and one of a kind collection of Matthew Williamson, who designed some merchandise this year for the Spring 09 collection for H&M. He burst into fashion in 1997. His incredible eye and talent working with prints mixed in new ways brought a fresh wide range of summer clothing. It is Ibiza, London, New York, and a freedom of a party global traveler in one. His clothes are loved by Sienna Miller, Gweneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Keira Knightely. Last year he was honored by the Exhibition in Design Museum in London.
